1950s

1954 - First salon opens 108 New Bond St. London
1954 - On the set of the film Rosemary’s Baby, Vidal Sassoon gives Mia Farrow’s hair the controversial cut that reshapes the cookie cutter look of leading women in film as we know it.

1960s

1964 - Vidal goes international, opening a salon in NYC.
1968 - Sassoon’s salons go global.

1970s

1973 - Vidal Sassoon hair care products are launched,introducing the world to salon-inspired shampoos,conditioners, styling products.
1976 - If you don’t look good we don’t look good. Campaign makes its international debut,infusing an energizing a burst of confidence and style to the way women care for their hair.

1980s

1980 - Vidal Sassoon becomes the first official Hair Care Consultant to the Athletes of the 1984 Olympic games in LA.
